Updated October 7, 2026. Bug Barrier Guide publishes practical guides about residential pest control services and prevention. These are the standards we hold ourselves to, written down so that you can judge us against them.
Our standards
- Start from a real question. Topics come from things readers and practitioners actually ask, not from keyword gaps.
- Explain the mechanism. We say why something behaves as it does before we say what to do, because that is what lets you handle the case we did not anticipate.
- Use ranges and name the variables. Where a figure depends on location, product or conditions, we say so instead of quoting a convenient number.
- State the downside. Every option has one, and an article that lists only advantages is advertising.
- Defer to the people who are licensed. Where a task needs a licensed professional, we say so plainly.
- Correct in the open. Errors are fixed on the page, with a note about what changed.
What we do not publish
We do not publish sponsored articles, paid guest posts or paid link placements, and we do not sell reviews. Unsolicited offers of payment for a link get no reply.
Sources and checking
We rely on manufacturer documentation, published standards, official agency guidance and hands-on experience. We do not invent statistics or credit figures to sources we have not read. Prices, specifications and availability are accurate on the day they are written and should be verified with the supplier.
Use of software tools
Software may assist with research, outlining, editing and image creation. A human editor directs, reviews, fact-checks and approves everything we publish and is accountable for it. Generated images are illustrations and are never presented as photographs of real products, places or people.
Money
The site is funded by display advertising chosen automatically by third-party networks and, on some pages, by affiliate links. Advertisers do not see our articles first and cannot influence them. A commission never decides a recommendation, and our Disclaimer sets out the disclosure.
Corrections and contact
If you think something is wrong, send it with a source through the contact form. We verify it, fix the article and add a dated note. We would rather be told than be wrong in public.
